The Broken Chain

We little knew that morning that God would call your name.
In life we loved you dearly.  In death we do the same.

It broke our hearts to lose you. You did not go alone;
For part of us went with you, the day God called you home.

You left us peaceful memories, your love is still our guide;
And though we cannot see you, you're always by our side.

Our family chain is broken and nothing is the same,
But as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.

  2. what a neat poem. I really like that! for me it kind of explains a little bit why it'll always feel like you have 3 kids. thinking that you have 2 just feels wrong in every way.

  4. I can't begin to imagine how hard it is to be without a part of your family. I think about you and your family all the time. Hailey is a beautiful little angel! I have some pictures of our kids playing in the water at the farm. Do you want them?
